Certificate II in Salon Assistant – SHB20216

The Certificate II in Salon Assistant – SHB20216, will prepare you to effectively work as an assistant in a hairdressing salon where you will work under the direct supervision of a qualified hairdresser.

You will gain the knowledge and skills to support hairdressers in a salon, shampooing, colouring, blow-drying and braiding hair, maintaining hairdressing tools, scheduling appointments, recommending and selling products, and applying workplace health and safety.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

To fulfil the requirements of this qualification, students are expected to undertake approximately 30 hours of practical industry experience within a hairdressing salon. This is available to students at the Clip Joint Education Salon where they will be able to work with qualified hairdressers and apply their skills and knowledge by engaging with and providing services to members of the public.

The Certificate II in Salon Assistant is delivered through a combination of classroom and practical based delivery within the Student Salon at Clip Joint Education, 86 Gawler Place Adelaide SA 5000
