This course will provide you with advanced hairdressing techniques including haircutting, hair design, hair colouring, complex colour correction and makeup application.
Successful completion of this qualification can lead to many career opportunities such as a technical advisor for product companies, an in-salon Senior Stylist or Freelance Session Stylist for creative projects including Fashion festivals, weddings, photography shoots etc.
Applicants must have successfully completed Certificate III in Hairdressing and at least one-year experience post-qualification, full time employment as a qualified hairdresser in a salon environment.
To fulfil the requirements of this qualification, students are expected to demonstrate a range of skills within a hairdressing salon. Where this is not available within your workplace, you will be able to utilise the facilities of the Clip Joint Education Salon. This will enable you to apply your skills and knowledge by engaging with and providing services to members of the public.
Students will be expected to attend Clip Joint Education for a combination of theory based workshops and complete practical salon projects in a hairdressing environment.
The Certificate IV in Hairdressing is made up of 11 units of competency (2 core and 9 elective*), below is a list of units students will complete as part of this course:

Clip Joint Education has a limited number of subsidised training places for eligible qualified* hairdressers who wish to upskill to the Certificate IV in Hairdressing (SHB40216).
