Diploma of Salon Management – SHB50216

The Diploma of Salon Management has been designed for individuals who are currently managing or looking to manage the overall operation of a personal services business including hairdressing and beauty salons and spas.

A salon manager at this level may focus on building the business, creating and establishing a personal services culture, leading and developing a team, developing and implementing marketing activities, and ensuring all occupational health and safety requirements are maintained.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

To fulfil the requirements of this qualification, students are expected to demonstrate a range of skills within a Salon environment where they can review organisational policies and procedures, work with staff and the general public, review systems and processes and help to implement successful changes. Students are able to apply these skills within their own work environment (where available) or alternatively, will be able to demonstrate these skills within the Clip Joint Education Salon. This industry practice has been embedded into the course duration and will contribute to the overall outcome of competence for the qualification.

DELIVERY

The Diploma of Salon Management is delivered through a combination of classroom and practical based delivery within the Student Salon at Clip Joint Education, 86 Gawler Place Adelaide SA 5000

The Diploma of Salon Management is made up of 10 units of competency (7 Core and 3 Elective*). Students will undertake the following units with Clip Joint Education:

BSBLED501* Develop a workplace learning environment
BSBSMB403 Market the small business
